About Me

Professional

My counseling career, in Arizona, began in 2003 working at an outdoor-based therapy program for teens, young adults and their parents.  I offered support to these families for over twelve years either as a counselor, clinical coordinator or clinical supervisor.  I have also provided counseling to individuals and couples, in various outpatient settings, for over 10 years.

I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Arizona since 2006 and have also been an approved Clinical Supervisor for much of that time.

I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Marriage, Family and Human Development at Brigham Young University in 2001.   I then completed a Master’s Degree in Social Work also at Brigham Young University in 2003.

Personal

I was raised in a small town in Montana where a culture of community, extended family connections and traditional values existed.  My parents showed me how to work hard and provided a supportive family setting for me and my three siblings, one of which is an identical twin.  As a teenager I enjoyed playing sports such as basketball, track, and weight lifting (including hay bales and sprinkler pipe).

As a result of various life experiences, I deepened my appreciation and respect for the value of each individual.  I became interested in using my talents to serve others in a meaningful way, and counseling seemed like an ideal fit for me.

Indeed, counseling has been a career that I have deeply enjoyed.  I find fulfillment in supporting individuals and couples to live their most peaceful, balanced, and connected lives.

In my free time I enjoy reading books and listening to podcasts related to improving my role as a counselor and enhancing my health and relationships.  I also enjoy practicing meditation, running, lifting weights, and enhancing my relationships with my wife and four children.
